Gutter replacement in Adelaide

New Colorbond® gutters, fascia and downpipes, fitted by our own licensed crew across Adelaide and South Australia. Gutters are the least interesting part of a house and the most expensive to ignore: water that is not carried away ends up in the eaves, the walls and the footings.

What we do

Most of the gutter replacement we do is on older Adelaide homes where the original gutters have rusted through at the joins and corners, or were never big enough for a real downpour. Every job starts with a free look, including the fascia behind the old gutter, because rotten timber has to be replaced before anything new goes on.

We replace guttering, fascia and downpipes across South Australia in Colorbond® steel to match your roof. A lot of older Adelaide homes have gutters that were never big enough. We size the new ones for a real downpour, not the minimum that fits.

Where you have gum trees overhead we fit leaf guard. Downpipes get connected into the stormwater rather than left to empty next to the slab.

Signs your gutters need replacing

Patching an old gutter buys time. If you can see more than one of these, it is usually time to replace rather than repair.

  • Rust holes or rust along the bottom of the gutter
  • Leaks at the joins and corners
  • Overflowing in heavy rain
  • Sagging, or pulling away from the fascia
  • Water stains on the eaves or walls
  • Rotten or soft fascia boards
  • Paint peeling on the eaves
  • Water pooling against the house

Gutter profiles

We fit the common Colorbond® profiles and match whichever suits the house and the roof.

  • Quad. The standard profile on most Adelaide homes.
  • Half round. A traditional look that suits older and character homes.
  • Square line. A flatter, more modern face.
  • Fascia gutter. Gutter and fascia in one, for a clean line along the eave.

What affects the cost of gutter replacement

Every house is different, so we price it on site. These are the things that move the number.

  • Length of gutter. How many metres, and how many corners.
  • Fascia. Whether the timber behind the gutter needs replacing.
  • Downpipes. How many, and whether they connect into the stormwater.
  • Profile and colour. Matched to the house and the roof.
  • Access. Two-storey homes and tight sides take more time.
  • Leaf guard. Worth it under gum trees and street trees.

Popular Colorbond colours

Colorbond® steel, made and tested for Australian weather. The same shades are available in UniCote® steel if you want the longer coastal warranty. Tap a swatch to see it on a roof profile.

Corrugated profile Monument® #323233 · Colorbond® steel

All eight are available across our guttering, fascia and downpipe range, and the full Colorbond® palette has 22. Colours look different on a phone, so we bring real samples to the quote and hold them against your bricks.

UniCote steel and its warranty

How long a roof lasts depends mostly on the coating on the steel, so it is worth choosing before the steel is ordered.

We can supply your gutters, fascia and downpipes in UniCote®, an Australian pre-painted steel with two grades chosen by how close you are to the sea. Both are tested to the Australian standard for pre-painted steel (AS/NZS 2728).

What a sheet is made of

Both sides are coated. The steel core never touches the weather.

UniCote® Select

The standard sheet for most of Adelaide and inland SA.

Warranty up to 45 years

UniCote® Coastal

Within 400 m of the water

A thicker coating with magnesium added, which seals the cut edges where steel usually rusts first.

Warranty up to 50 years
How the warranty works

There is no one number. The warranty is written for your address, based on how far you are from the water and what is going on the roof. We lodge it before the steel is ordered and it comes back within 48 hours, so you have it in hand before the sheets arrive. Like every steel warranty it needs the roof washed down now and then. We will tell you how often.

Colours

UniCote® has 21 standard colours plus three matt finishes, and a larger range if you want something different. Same rule as always: we bring samples, you hold them against the house.

How a job runs

1

We come and look

Someone gets up on the roof or into the space and photographs what is there. You see the photos. No sales pitch.

2

You get a fixed price in writing

For carports and verandahs we draw it in CAD and show you a 3D picture. Every job gets a written quote with the scope and inclusions spelled out.

3

We handle approvals and book a date

Where council approval or engineering is needed, we prepare and lodge it. Then we book a start date and tell you what to expect each day.

4

Our own crew does the work

Licensed trades, on site when we said, working to the quoted scope. If something unexpected turns up we stop and speak to you first.

5

We clean up and hand it over

We clear the site, sweep the driveway and lawn for screws, and take every offcut away. Then we walk the finished job with you and pass on the maker's warranty for the materials, so you are left with a job done properly and nothing to chase up.

Questions about gutters

It depends on the length of gutter, whether the fascia needs replacing, the number of downpipes and how easy the roof is to get to. We price every job on site for free and give you a fixed price in writing, so there is no guesswork.

If the fascia is rotten or soft, yes. A new gutter needs solid timber to fix to, and replacing the fascia later means taking the new gutter off again. We check it on the quote visit and tell you what we find.

Yes, if the rest is sound. If most of it is rusting, replacing the lot is usually better value. We will tell you which on the quote visit.

A good Colorbond system, 20 years or more. Older galvanised gutters usually fail first at the joins and internal corners. That is what we replace most.

Yes. It is included with every roof restoration, and we do standalone cleans around the metro area.

Yes. We work in the full Colorbond® range, so gutters, fascia and downpipes can match the roof or contrast with it.

No. They are blocked, too small, or the fall is wrong. All three are fixable, and worth fixing before the next big storm.
